How to get a Haven Play Pass in 2024
If you’re all set for a Haven holiday, you can be sure that you’re not alone. That’s because Haven is one of the top holiday providers in the UK. Established in 1964, Haven is now part of the same group that owns Butlins, and you can be sure of an amazing time away that’s for the whole family. Part of the attraction of a Haven holiday is the fact that there are so many activities and facilities to enjoy. However, to make the most of these, you’ll need a Haven play pass.
Haven play passes are what unlock some of the fun that’s involved at these resorts. If you’ve gone ahead and booked a full-blow Haven break, you’ll already be able to access everything that you want to. If you’re lacking a Haven play pass, there are 2 likely reasons for this:
- You may have booked a Haven Hideaway holiday. This will have saved money on the initial booking, but it will have meant that you’re limited to what you can do on the site
- It could be that you didn’t book directly with Haven. If you booked with a private caravan owner, you don’t automatically get the same perks
As you read on, we’re going to explore just what these passes are, and what they get you. We’re also going to look at the Haven play pass cost and consider if they’re worth the money. If you’re Haven holiday is approaching, this is information that you need to know.
What is a Haven Play pass?
A Haven play pass is what you need if you want to take full advantage of the facilities and activities on a Haven site. We have had a look a little earlier at why you may find yourself on a Haven site without a day pass, and whether or not you want one is entirely up to you.
If you decided to book a Haven Hideaway, it could be that, at the time of booking the extras on offer weren’t of interest to you. The truth is if you’re planning a holiday when you’re going off-site for the majority of the time, Haven play passes may not be a priority for you. When you’re simply using the site as a base for your holiday, you probably wouldn’t get your money’s worth, and you can still have a perfectly good holiday without one.
That being said, you may have had a change of heart. Maybe you’ve read some reviews, or the kids have been continually talking about the swimming pool, and you’ve decided that full access is a must. When this is the case, it’s Haven play passes that give you what you need.
Who can buy Haven Play passes?
If you’re heading for a day out, and you’re in an area where there’s a Haven holiday park, you may be tempted to look at a Haven play pass to pay a visit. Maybe you have family staying with Haven, and you fancy heading over and having some time together. Unfortunately, this isn’t how Haven passes work. You can’t buy one of these unless you already have a Haven holiday booked.
The Haven play pass cost is in addition to what you’ve paid for your holiday if you’ve opted for a Hideaway or private caravan. Buying a pass means that you’re able to gain full access to everything on-site when you arrive for your holiday.
If you already have your holiday underway and you’re tempted to bring some guests along, our advice is don’t! Haven doesn’t allow for guests and if you go against the rules, you could find your holiday being terminated and coming to an early end. The best bet is to arrange to meet friends nearby and enjoy some time off-site if you want some extra company.
What’s included with Haven play passes?
Before you can decide if a Haven play pass is something that will add something worthwhile to your holiday, you’ll need to know just what’s included. The thing with Haven holidays is that they provide everything that you could possibly need for your time away. There is enough on the site to keep all ages entertained without the need to venture anywhere else. That is, of course, if you have Haven play passes.
Assuming that you have passes in hand, you’ll find that Haven offers a non-stop programme of activities and fun. As well as your accommodation, you get:
- Full access to the outdoor and indoor swimming pools. This includes the flumes and slides.
- Full access to every entertainment venue on-site. This includes all of the daytime and evening entertainment
- Access to the arcades
- The chance to pre-book all free and paid for activities that are available
Just some of the activities that you’ll find you can access with a Haven pass include:
- Climbing walls
- Archery
- Fencing
- Biking classes
- Bungee trampolines
- Nature trails
- Crazy golf
- Crafts
- Much more
With so much available, you can understand why people are more than prepared to pay the Haven play pass cost and have access to activities that make for a fantastic holiday.
What if you don’t have a Haven play pass?
If you find yourself without Haven play passes, what you have is a holiday where you can use the accommodation as a base. With where Haven sites tend to be located, you’ll find that you’re usually just a short walk or drive away from a beach, as well as other local attractions. This means that you have the opportunity to get out and about to explore.
Back on the site, as well as having your accommodation, you’re also able to use:
- The on-site restaurants
- The arcades
- Outdoor play area
- The on-site shop
- The on-site launderette
There tend to be a couple of reasons why people book their holiday without a Haven play pass. Some people are looking to get out and about and aren’t too concerned with using everything that the site has to offer. Other people leave them as they can see that booking a holiday without works out quite a bit cheaper. The truth, however, is that it’s best to include full access when you book your holiday rather than pay extra for day passes later on.
How do you buy Haven passes?
We’ll come onto the Haven play pass cost shortly, but first, we’ll take a look at what you need to do to buy one. Luckily, getting your hands on these is straightforward. All that you need to do is give Haven a ring, or head online and visit the website.
That being said, there are different approaches depending on the holiday that you’ve booked:
Haven Hideaway – you simply need to contact Haven and give your surname and booking reference number. You can use the app for this if you prefer
Private caravan – the owner should register your holiday with the site. The site will then email you and ask if you want to book day passes. This can be done up to 4 weeks before your holiday starts
One watch-out here is that you should never buy passes directly from the private owner of a caravan, or from any type of agent. The only way to buy these legitimately is through Haven itself.
If you’re still not sure what to do about a Haven play pass before your holiday, the good news is that you still have another option open. You can buy these from reception when you arrive. There are 2 things to be aware of here though:
- The activities that passes give access to can get booked up quickly. It may be better to buy your Haven play passes as early as possible and then book the activities that you want
- Reception will often be extremely busy, and you can find yourself queuing for hours. You can beat the queues by buying online
