The Best All Inclusive Hotels in Gran Canaria for Families in 2024

Another of the Canary Islands which has long been a popular tourist destination for all-inclusive holidays is Gran Canaria. Sitting further east and slightly south compared to Tenerife, Gran Canaria offers a very similar climate, with very low rainfall and long hours of sunshine.

Gran Canaria is considered to have a desert climate due to its lack of rainfall. The more popular tourist destinations are towards the south of the island at places such as Maspalomas and Meloneras, as the southern area tends to be warmer and sunnier than the northern parts, and this is where we will focus our roundup of Gran Canaria hotels to bring you the very best options to help you plan the best all-inclusive family holiday possible.

Vistaflor Bungalows

We’ve again stayed in the south part of Gran Canaria for this all-inclusive holiday, bringing to you the stunning Vistaflor Bungalows.

This Gran Canaria hotel lies slightly further away from the beach; however, the tranquil garden setting provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxing holiday, whilst its central location to local amenities such as Aqualand Maspalomas makes it easy for a family day out. As this hotel sits a distance too far to walk to the beach, there is a shuttle bus in operation should you wish to use it.

The rooms are different to what you would find at a conventional family hotel, with the Vistaflor Bungalows offering 2-story 1- and 2-bedroom bungalow-style apartments complete with living spaces and facilities to make it a comfortable stay.

Even though there are facilities available for a self-catering holiday, this Gran Canaria hotel also offers an excellent all-inclusive option through the on-site restaurants. There’s everything on offer, from a buffet-style restaurant to the poolside bar to the a la carte restaurant, waiting to ignite your tastebuds with delicious foods.

Paradisus Gran Canaria

What does the name of this hotel say to you when you read it? To me, it says paradise and that’s exactly what you’re going to find when you visit this Gran Canaria hotel, a little slice of paradise.

The Paradisus goes above and beyond to engage children who visit the resort through their floating island, named Planet Aiyanna, where Willow lives. If the children travelling with you are between ages 5 and 10, they’ll be able to engage in activities such as games, science experiments, crafts, and much more.

For the older children in your group, they’ll be kept busy with engaging and energetic sports activities such as volleyball, and water polo, and when they’ve had enough of running or swimming around, they can chill with an Xbox or maybe a movie night.

Whilst the kids are off having plenty of fun, the adults may wish to take advantage of pampering themselves in the Signature Destination spa, keep on top of their fitness with the Signature Wellness Programme, or if you have lots of time to spare, explore the amazing island a bit further.

Imagine a place where five different dining cultures come together. Yes, you’ve guessed it, that’s what you’ve got to look forward to if you book a trip to this all-inclusive hotel. The Paradisus gives an opportunity to sample, international cuisine, steakhouse, Asian, raw and healthy food, and sweets and desserts, all in the same place.

If that’s not enough, there’s also the MasCalzone – Trattoria which serves up amazing Italian food. To complement the two main restaurants, the Ginger Grand Café & Lobby Bar will cover all of your snacking and refreshment needs.

H10 Playa Meloneras Palace

As mentioned in the opening paragraph of this article on the best all-inclusive Gran Canaria hotels, another excellent part of the island to stay in is the Meloneras region. This isn’t the first H10 hotel we’ve mentioned in our articles across the Canary Islands and this one makes the list for many good reasons.

The H10 Playa Meloneras Palace boasts several places to eat across the hotel so if you’re staying for a week you could choose somewhere different to eat each night of your holiday. The Tamadaba will take care of your buffet-style dining, whilst heading to the Gaudi restaurant will provide you with a la carte options.

The Naturalia bar sits poolside and can be accessed throughout the day for all your snacks and drinks options. If you fancy some calmer surroundings, why not head to the Tropical Chill-Out space where you can enjoy a cocktail whilst taking in the breathtaking sea views.

Another amazing feature of the H10 Playa Meloneras is that it sits next to exclusive golf courses making access to those courses easy.

As for swimming options, this Gran Canaria hotel boasts 4 swimming pools; 2 adults (1 of which is heated), a heated children’s pool and a heated infinity pool, providing plenty of options for when you need to cool off.

The younger travellers in your group will be thoroughly entertained in the Daisy Club, and much like its sister hotel in Tenerife, the H10 Conquistador, they’ll be able to engage in great activities such as water games, children’s pool, painting, arts and crafts and a mini disco.

As this is a chain of hotels, you can expect to find similarities across any of the hotels you visit, such as free Wi-Fi, parking (if needed), and consistent service, which provides reassurance and peace of mind when visiting.

Maspalomas Princess

This all-inclusive Gran Canaria hotel is situated in the heart of Maspalomas and brings everything to the table for a great family holiday.

The all-inclusive element of this hotel works under two different schemes; a silver or a gold bracelet. The silver standard package entitles guests to a range of services, including drinks and meals, whilst the gold upgrade packages include all of the above plus a further gastronomic offer such as crepes and waffles.

The facilities for children at this hotel are second to none. Some of the activities that children will be able to undertake during their stay include playing for hours in the hotel’s water park, paddling pools, at the playground or as part of the mini club if they’re between the ages of 4 and 12.

For the energetic folks, there’s a great range of sports and activity classes ranging from Zumba to Pilates to Volleyball to gym classes. Also aimed at the adults is a specific 18+ area of the hotel where you can relax at the Bar Chill Out, or perhaps in the swimming pool. Also, if you are in need of pampering, head over to the spa for a range of beauty treatments which are sure to get you feeling your best!

As for other facilities at this Gran Canaria hotel, there are 6 freshwater outdoor pools, an artificial sand beach, a garden area and a TV area, meaning you could spend a day of your holiday in a different part of the hotel.

Canary Garden Club

This Gran Canaria hotel is situated slightly further away from the coast, but again sits in the heart of Maspalomas, meaning it provides excellent access to all the local amenities and is within walking distance of wherever you need to go whilst visiting the island.

For context, it sits only 2km away from the well-known Maspalomas beach, which will provide your family with excellent access for those beach days.

The hotel provides a separate adult’s and children’s pool, with the children’s pool sitting right next to the adult one, meaning you can always be in close proximity to the kids to make sure they’re safe. Both pools are also heated during the winter months which will be perfect if the ever-present sunshine decides to diminish for a short while.

The bar and restaurant provide all your culinary needs, from breakfast right up through to the buffet-style dinner, with an a la carte lunch squeezed in the middle.

The hotel itself looks amazing and is clean, modern and welcoming. Where this hotel is a little different is that the accommodation comprises either one-or two-bedroom apartments all built on a single level. Each apartment comes with a private garden and the “bungalow with kitchen” comes equipped with a kitchenette.

Hotel Riu Vistamar

For this Gran Canaria hotel, we have headed west up the coast to Puerto Rica Gran Canaria to bring you the magnificent Hotel Riu Vistamar which sits atop a cliff and brings extraordinary views of the sea.

Sitting only 2km away from the Playa de Amadores beach it’s only a short walk for a great family day out, or if your little ones don’t fancy the walk, take advantage of the free shuttle bus on offer.

The kids won’t have time to get bored at the Hotel Riu Vistamar because there’s so much stuff for them to do. At the RuiLand Kids’ Club, they’ll be able to engage in loads of activities to keep them entertained throughout their holiday.

Whilst the children are off enjoying themselves, the adults can take advantage of the facilities at this all-inclusive hotel by taking part in the RiuFit programme, which is designed to help keep people active throughout their stay – perhaps a perfect tonic after indulging in the all-inclusive menu…

Talking about food, it wouldn’t be an all-inclusive hotel if the food wasn’t absolutely amazing and this Hotel Riu Vistamar won’t let you down in this department. The Amadores restaurant covers breakfast, the Kai restaurant covers Asian cuisine, and finally, the very aptly named Sea Breeze restaurant covers all local cuisine – there is something for everyone.

Last and by no means least, this Gran Canaria offers guests plenty of options with two swimming pools, a children’s pool and an infant’s pool, so something to keep the whole family happy and entertained, and possibly a little tired out.

Servatur Waikiki

Heading eastwards towards Playa del Ingles, we are bringing to you the Servatur Waikiki, which has recently been renovated so you can be sure you are getting modernised facilities.

At this Gran Canaria hotel, you will find a splash park for the children, which contains apparatus for them to climb, slides to slide them into the water, and tipping coconuts which are sure to delight them as they get soaked from above.

The adult pool is magnificent and takes centre stage in the middle of the hotel meaning you can relax and soak up the sunshine whilst the children play in the shallower end, or when it’s time to cool off, just dive right in to get yourself refreshed and ready for some more sunbathing!

The Servatur Waikiki has outdoor play areas such as sports courts with basketball nets and football goals which are ideal for getting the kids away from the water and encouraging them to run around.

This Gran Canaria hotel also offers an entertainment programme which includes indoor activities such as crafts, if they need to get out of the sun for a little while. For the older kids, who perhaps don’t want to take part in the Hula-hula Park, there is a teens lounge, PlayStation, Xbox and Wii which all form part of the comprehensive entertainment package on offer.

As for the adults in the group, are you energetic enough to take part in a game of volleyball or perhaps a fitness class, or would you rather head to the wellness area and take advantage of some relaxation time – whatever you choose this hotel has both services on offer.

Food is also well covered through the buffet-style restaurant offering with breakfast served daily between 7.30am and 10.00am, lunch is between 1pm and 3pm, and dinner between 6.30pm and 9.45pm.
