Luxurious London Hotels Which have Stunning Rooftop Pools 2024

Last year saw some record-breaking temperatures in the UK and this year is set to see the heat in London going even higher. Whereas once it was enough for air-con as part of your city break, now tourists are keen to find London hotels with outdoor pools. They offer a great way to cool off and really enjoy your surroundings.

When you look at the UK weather of the past, you’ll understand why finding a London hotel with outdoor pool is less than easy than finding one with an Indoor pool. While this is something that’s commonplace in sunnier climes, London hotels with a pool are few and far between. Perhaps if the heat waves keep on coming, more hotels will be looking to adapt and provide the outdoor swimming experience.

Now, one thing to be aware of here is the price. Given that it’s so hard to find an outdoor pool hotel in London, it’s perhaps unsurprising that you’ll pay a premium for the privilege of staying at one. If this makes things a touch unaffordable, it’s worth exploring any other London hotel with swimming pool where the pool may be inside.

If you’re determined to experience an outdoor pool, keep reading as we cover the hotels that you can choose from.

The Berkeley

Address: Wilton Place, Knightsbridge, London, SW1X 7RL

Average cost per night: £900

The Berkeley first opened its doors as a hotel back in 1897 and has been regarded as one of the most prestige locations ever since. What has kept this hotel so popular, is the fact that it has always moved with the times. If you look back to the 1920s, this was one of the first hotels to include air-con. In the 30s it was double glazing, and the 70s saw the introduction of a rooftop pool. This meant that early on, it became a hotel with a pool in London and it had something special to offer.

With the average cost of a night’s stay being around the £900 mark, you can be sure that you get a true 5-star experience. The rooms are sheer luxury and the dining experience is second to none. To be fair, inside the hotel is everything that you’d expect considering its location. With Harrods and Harvey Nichols on your doorstep, this is a place where you can really indulge yourself.

As well as being an outdoor pool hotel, the Berkeley also has a luxury spa on the 7th floor. Here you can enjoy a wide range of experiences, all of which will leave you feeling and looking magical. There are also numerous special events held throughout the summer months. These include the likes of synchronised swimming classes and hula hoop.

If you’re wanting to make the most of this outdoor pool hotel, you’ll need to be a paying guest before you can take a dip.

Mondrian Shoreditch

Address: 45 Curtain Road, London, EC2A 3PT

Average cost per night: £300

Our second London hotel with an outdoor pool, the Mondrian Shoreditch is located right in the centre of Shoreditch. This means that it’s also close to the trendy Hoxton Square. This is another top-end hotel and, with an average cost of £300, you can find rooms starting at the £227 mark.

Owned by Accor, this London hotel with swimming pool was refurbished a couple of years ago. The rooms have been completed to a truly exceptional standard and it’s extremely difficult to find anything to fault. The public areas are impressive too, with a selection of tropical plants, it feels as though you’re walking through a modernist greenhouse.

As well as enjoying the outdoor pool, something else that you really must do here is sample breakfast on the sunny rooftop. Enjoying the warmth of the sun while sampling delicious dishes is truly divine and it’s an experience that we’d highly recommend. If you’re looking for an international flavour, then you can head downstairs and indulge yourself in the hotel’s Spanish restaurant.

As one of the London hotels with a pool, the Mondrian Shoreditch also has a feel of something trendy about it. There is a real buzz here down to the fact that it’s the go-to location for creatives working in start-up companies. This is their meeting place of choice, and it really adds to the overall vibe. That being said, when it comes to time to kick back and relax, or sleep, you can be sure that you can enjoy perfect peace and quiet.

Embassy Gardens

Address: 3 Viaduct Gardens, Nine Elms, London, SW11 7AY

Average cost per night: £325

If you’re looking for a London hotel with a swimming pool, then Embassy Gardens is the ultimate. Why? Well, this is home to the world’s first Sky Pool. This clear acrylic pool is some 115ft in the air and provides an experience that you simply can’t match. Where else can you take a dip and enjoy stunning views of the gardens that are beneath you? It truly does feel like you’re swimming in mid-air. It may take some getting used to, but it’s certainly worth it.

There’s more to Embassy Gardens than just the outdoor pool. With 5-star service, you can also expect 5-star facilities. These include the likes of a games room and a stunning private cinema. These facilities, along with the Sky Pool, can be enjoyed by residents and their guests.

The hotel also has a first-class gym if you’re looking for a workout. If you want something a little less harsh, there are things such as Pilates lessons to enjoy. No matter what you decide, you can unwind and relax in the saunas or steam rooms.

This outdoor pool hotel also has more to offer for those who are looking to relax in style. The Sky Deck and the Orangery provide the perfect settings to sit back and enjoy a glass of champagne or two. While here, you’ll get the perfect view as the sun starts to set over London.

The Ned

Address: 27 Poultry, London EC2R 8AJ

Average cost per night: £324

As with the majority of London hotels with outdoor pools, this is a 5-star offering. Situated in the centre of the City of London, the rooftop pool here provides a great experience and allows you to destress and relax.

The Ned hotel is certainly a famous one. It’s located within what was the Midlands Bank headquarters. Originally designed by Sir Edwin ‘Ned’ Lutyens, much of the architectural detail remains in place. However, the use of the building couldn’t be any different to its original purpose. Now, it’s seen as somewhat of a party palace that comes with a host of first-class facilities.

There are top restaurants, a range of bars and an area where you can enjoy the best in live entertainment. If you’d rather get away from it all and unwind then you could head to the spa. Whether you’re wanting a facial, a manicure or a pedicure, this is the perfect place to do it. You can then also make the most of the sauna to reach the ultimate stage of relaxation.

There is one thing that’s a little disappointing when it comes to this London hotel with an outdoor pool: not everyone can access it. As things are right now, to make the most of this pool, the rooftop restaurant and the underground bar, being a guest isn’t enough on its own: you also need to be a Ned’s Club member. While this adds to the exclusivity, it’s a real shame for those who are paying to stay as guests.

Shoreditch House

Address: Ebor Street, London, E1 6AW

Average cost per night: £335

This is another hotel with a pool in London and you can be sure that you’ll enjoy taking a dip in the rooftop pool. When you book a room here, you get a pass that allows you to access a whole host of facilities. That, of course, includes the outdoor pool and it also covers the likes of a games room.

There’s plenty more to enjoy at Shoreditch House. There are two amazing restaurants when you’re ready to dine. There are numerous lounges where you can kick back and relax as well as a gym, sauna and spa.

If you’re looking for something that’s on the lively side, the best place to head to is the Library Bar. Here, you’ll find that there are regular DJs and live bands performing as well as film screenings. There’s always something going on and that’s what makes Shoreditch house such an appealing option.
